September 2023:
  • September 25-27: ICS-300, Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents.  This course will cover ICS Staffing, organization, forms; reporting, working relationships, information flow, transfer of command; Unified Command functions in a multi-jurisdictional or multi-agency incident; Resource Management, inter-agency mission planning, and procurement.  Appropriate for all mid-level management from federal, state, local, tribal, private sector and non-governmental organizations.  8:00 am to 4:00 pm.   • September 28-29: ICS-400, Advanced ICS Command & General Staff - Complex Incidents.  This course will cover the Command and General Staff; Major/Complex Incident or Event Management; organizational relationships between Area Command, Unified Command, Multi-Agency Coordination Systems, and Emergency Operations Centers.  Appropriate for executive-level management personnel from federal, state, local, tribal, private sector and non-governmental organizations.  8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Training site: Tuscaloosa County EMA, 7400 Richard M. October 2023:
  • October 3-5, 2023: PERS-213, Wide Area Search.  This course is an excellent training opportunity for nearly any    jurisdiction and/or agency that may face such a need during an emergency.   Participants are instructed in practical search methods and skills so they can perform systematic searches over a large affected area.  Topics include: Preparation and Response; Search Management and Planning; Mapping; Search Strategies; Communication; and Team Management.  The course concludes with an in-depth exercise that requires participants to apply the skills gained during the course.   8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.  The course is free of charge.  CEU's available.   • October 4-5, 2023: MGT-418, Readiness: Training Identification and Preparedness Planning.  Participants will learn how to create effective training plans for their agencies and jurisdictions using a whole community approach. Participants will learn a jurisdiction training assessment process in which an integrated assessment team creates a jurisdictional profile and evaluates the jurisdiction’s ability to fully implement their Emergency Operations Plans (EOP).  Participants will then be able to identify and catalog training goals and identify ways to meet them by prioritizing training efforts, developing improvement plans, and implementing a course of action.  8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  This course is free of charge.  Training site: Tuscaloosa County EMA, 7400 Richard M. November 2023
  • November 7, 2023: Hazardous Chemical Inventories in E-Plan: Training for First Responders.  This training goes into detail on the mechanics of using the tools within E-Plan to perform chemical searches, locate facility information, and create basic plume modeling for chemical releases. With successful completion of the seminar, LEPCs, fire fighters, and other emergency responders will be able to login to E-Plan, access Tier II data, and more effectively plan for chemical emergencies in their communities.  Presented by Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).  12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Training site: Training site: Tuscaloosa County EMA, 7400 Richard M.
