The following courses are available for private citizens and government officials. Some courses offered by Emergency Management Institute (EMI) may change slightly by adding .B or .C behind the number. After completing and passing a course, certificates will be sent via email.

For a basic understanding and level of classes most organizations require:

  • IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100         
  • IS-200.C: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
  • IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
  • IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction

The Professional Development Series courses provide a well-rounded set of fundamentals for those interested in the emergency management profession. After successfully completing all seven, an additional certificate will be sent via email.
